Lead time?

Our normal lead time is approximately 90 days for pews or approximately 45 days for a very small order such as pulpit furniture. We might be able to deliver the pews sooner than this and will work with you to coordinate dates.

 Solid versus veneer?

We offer both. There are some places we use only solid oak such as caps and bases. Veneer products are of higher quality now than ever before. Even if you purchase a veneer pew all the ends and legs are banded with solid oak and all pews are based with solid oak. So if your carpet gets wet unless it is a huge flood the solid oak would be the exposed part to the water. Also, there is an advantage to solid oak bases when it comes to anchoring to the floor. But when you have a large expanse such as a table top the veneer works better. Your solid oak ends and legs can be completely refinished should you decide to in several years but that advantage might be outweighed by the extra approximate 20% you paid for them.

Thickness of ends and supports?

Our standard ends are 2" thick and all of our supports are 1-1/2" thick including the center supports for the stability needed.

Matching stain?

We can closely match the stain in your building but we have several standard samples from which you can select and if any of them are the right color it would aid in rematching several years down the road to use a standard color.

Pew spacing?

You need at least 34" to set a pew. 36" to 38" is preferred to allow easy access.

Pews versus chairs?

Chairs offer mobility allowing you to move them around and have different arrangements. Pews offer stability. When attached to the floor they stay where you put them. When attached to the floor they are also part of the building, therefore, in most insurance cases if you have a loss you will receive replacement cost (check with your own agent). Chairs, however, are considered contents. A pew that seats eight people has three legs to clean around versus thirty two legs to clean around with chairs. Chairs afford you the privacy of one seat per chair while pews allow you to use the space needed from a child to a large adult. Pews are designed and built to last for decades while at the same time complimenting the beauty and architecture of your building while chairs seem to be a short term answer.

Installation?

Our pews are delivered on our trucks and installed by our factory personnel. The average installation takes one day.
